AGE: 21

BACKGROUND:
Basic character information and stats are here
Pre-campaign history
  • Cinnis Sedonsath was born male and is the 4th child of a family of 6. The family Cinnis was born into was also the ruling family for that particular merfolk tribe on Zendikar.

  • His siblings are as follows: Celzes (m), Taren (m), Istyn (f), Talori (f), and Ynval (m)

  • Their mother died a year or so after Ynval's birth due to weak health, so Istyn stepped up early on to act as a mother to her younger siblings (and also helped managed the tribe)

  • The Sedonsath family had always taken pride in having a lineage of great warriors. So, all the children had to learn how to use weapons and understand magic.

  • Cinnis wasn't all that interested in that. One day, while sneaking away from his siblings, he came across a drag tavern on the outskirts of the nearest land-dweller city. There, he met Leghal Azh, an elven drag queen who would later on become their drag mother.

  • Inspired, Cinnis started to secretly explore song and dance.

  • Later on, when Cinnis was 18, now aware that they didn't feel comfortable being masculine or completely feminine, they sought out that drag tavern they came across. When they met Leghal Azh there, they asked to become their apprentice.

  • Leghal takes Cinnis as an apprentice formally (before their family) under the guise of a wizard training Cinnis to be a wizard as well.

  • For two years, Cinnis performs in secret as "Miss Fish" while training under Leghal in the bardic arts.

  • During those two years, Cinnis also discovers sex and hooking up and... gets pretty hooked on it.

  • At some point, Cinnis even flirts in broad daylight a little too close to where other merfolk from their tribe could catch them.

  • Rumors fly, but Cinnis' father and Istyn don't believe them at first.

  • But then, because of Cinnis' carelessness, they got caught by Celzes in full dick pig mode, serving a blowjob to one of Celzes' warrior comrades.

  • Cinnis is exiled from the tribe as their actions were unbecoming of the proud warrior lineage the family wanted to maintain. It also undermined the Sedonsath's dominance over the other families in the tribe.

  • Cut to, now living as a traveling performer, Cinnis decides to go by "Whorelyn of the Depths" as both a drag name and their everyday name (Because that's exactly what I am, darling!). They grow their hair out as well so they look all the more feminine.

  • In order to fund their travels and their expensive costumes/make-up, Cinnis also took on occasional sex work.

  • During one of their stops, a sailor falls in love with them and woos Whorelyn. He tells her that their merchant ship is bound for a different continent, that he wants her to sail with him.

  • This sailor is a very buff, good-looking man with olive skin, jet-black hair, and eyes like molten chocolate... think something like Fabio from a romance novel. His name is Ramondo.

  • Whorelyn falls madly in love with him and agrees.

  • The ship sails from the port city on Zendikar to Gravir, the city where the campaign begins.

  • As soon as they were on land, Whorelyn immediately sought to perform at any possible tavern. They do so, but during their performance, they noticed Ramondo flirting and leaving with some other non-human.

  • Whorelyn doesn't give it any attention until the second or third time Ramondo does it.

  • In a nearly violent fight back in their inn room, Whorelyn and Ramondo break up.

  • Whorelyn cuts their hair short, not sure what to do with their life now.

  • And just maybe a day after cutting their hair, Cinnis/Whorelyn walks into that tavern by the docks and their story with the party begins.

Campaign History
The campaign so far has only covered 4 days total in game time, so there isn't much to note.

The campaign begins with Whorelyn coming into the tavern by the docks, looking for gorgeous sailors to flirt with. Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work out and they end up being the dockmaster's guest. A fight nearly breaks out in the tavern and Whorelyn manages to tame it with their performance. Later in the evening, a hawk aven cleric (Tafari) comes into the tavern and begs for assistance. He convinces a tiefling (James) who was sitting at the bar to assist them. During that time, Whorelyn was at another table with that said tiefling's younger brother (Lee). Because of that brotherly bond, Whorelyn had to follow after Lee, driven by curiosity and not wanting to miss out on what was happening. It's a convoluted thing, but eventually, Whorelyn along with the tiefling brothers, a drow sailor (Charlotte), a monk (Dina), and the aven cleric from earlier get roped into a mission to rescue the king of Gravir.

During this mission, Whorelyn reveals their real name to the party, but tells them all that they'd rather be called "Fish" to save them confusion. Later on, they meet a paladin (Glory) who joins them. They eventually find the king's unconscious body and Fish deals the killing blow to the bandit keeping the king hostage.

The party is later on enlisted by the princess to find out more about the plot behind her father's abduction (as he was still in a coma). Fish is actually not really keen on taking this job, but the pay was generous and they really had not much better to do, so they justified it in their head. During this investigation, Fish feels restless as they've been unable to perform for a couple of days. So, in an impulsive move, they promise the princess a grand performance. Later on, Fish and James are challenged to a fight against one of the kingdom's elite forces. They win, but the James stays alive by the skin of their teeth with Fish's help. In gratitude, he kisses Fish and they make out against a wall in an out of the way corridor. Suddenly, a siege falls upon the castle and Fish joins in the pursuit to keep the royal family safe. They witness a suicide attack by one of the elites who had turned traitor against the kingdom, and then also becomes witness to the king's assassination by what seems to be the brother of that elite.

Because of the death of prince witnessed by the other party members, and Fish and the other half of the party being present for the king's assassination, they are now being cornered as suspects in the destruction of the royal family.

And this is where they are plucked from to become one of the Moonblessed.

PERSONALITY:
Fish is usually flamboyant, selfish, flirty, and wants to pursue pleasure above all things. To them, life isn't worth it if you aren't having a good time. However, as they eventually show somehow in their time with their party that they can be loyal to those they trust. Once, the party's paladin had run out recklessly once to assist the siege against the castle and despite it going against their predilection for staying comfortable, Fish ran after the paladin to support him in his fight. They also are actually kind sometimes, though they won't show it easily.

To Fish, freedom is an incredibly important thing to them. They couldn't stand the standard their family was held to. They couldn't stand the boundaries of gender norms. They couldn't stand it either when their ex argued with them on their right to continue performing. Speaking of things they can't stand, they can't stand being ugly either. They must always be beautiful.

They are passionate about being a performer-- and it goes in line with their desire for freedom. They get antsy when they aren't able to perform over a long period of time and will do anything to get up on stage and entertain an audience.

With regards to their flaws, Fish's selfishness often makes them want to not do things for other people or not want to do anything in general unless they're comfortable. They also have a pretty poor concept of personal space. They don't have a very good awareness of things or the way they come off to people sometimes. At times, they may seem tactless when they aren't paying attention to their actions. They've only been adventuring for a year and most of that was spent in the arms of a gorgeous sailor... so their knowledge of the world in general is also terrible. However, they are pretty curious to make up for that.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
As a merfolk, Fish is able to do the following:
  • Swim without any restriction to movement

  • Can be stealthy and sneaky thanks to their proficiency in sleight of hand and stealth

As a Lv.5 Bard (College of Glamour), Fish is able to do the following:
  • Play any lyre, lute, or dulcimer-like instrument

  • Sing and dance

  • Style themselves with make-up and costumes

  • Inspire others with music

  • Envoke an otherworldly appearance using fey magic to inspire allies and help them last longer in a battle

  • Charm up to 3 people by performing for at least a minute

  • Cast spells (see basic information)

  • Fight using a dagger and a rapier

As a performer, Fish also has expertise in acrobatics and performance. Their lyre also has a special feature that allows it to create simple illusion images within a 15ft radius such as music notes, a dancer, or falling snow.

INVENTORY:
  • Lyre (instrument of illusions)

  • Rapier

  • Dagger (ornate, a keepsake from their drag mother)

  • A simple make-up/disguise kit
